On Saturday 24th October, ILFA would like to invite you to light a candle at 6pm in support of patients and their families, and also to remember loved ones with lung fibrosis who have passed away.
The time of 6pm (18.00hr) is symbolic as ILFA was founded at this time of year 18 years ago. We hope you will join us. Please share a photo of your candle via our Facebook page or email info@ilfa.ie you would like to.

The Kerry Gold Friendship Classis will take place in Beaufort Golf Club in Kerry on Saturday 3rd October with proceeds going to ILFA and the Kerry Hospice Foundation.

All public health measures will be observed.

Huge thanks to Gerry Redican and JP O’Sulllivan of the Kerry IPF SUpport Group for organising this much appreciated fundraiser for ILFA.

The Covid 19 pandemic has transformed the way medical consultations take place and telephone consultations and video calls are becoming more common.

Remote healthcare offers many advantages as you can speak with a healthcare professional from the comfort and safety of your own home and travel is not required. Family members and carers can be included in the consultation if you wish.

However sometimes, your healthcare team will need a face-to-face consultation to assess your condition fully and sometimes the technology used can be tricky to master. Always ask for help if you need assistance with such consultations.

Congratulations to the recipients of the ILFA educational bursary whi will undertake Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) training.
Bursaries have been awarded to the following healthcare professionals;
– Paula Ryan, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, University Hospital Limerick
