Let’s Talk Clinical Trials – Part I

Dr Nazia Chaudhuri and Colin Edwards will be presenting the first of a two-part Let’s Talk series on the importance of Clinical Trials in ILD. Part 1 will take place on Wednesday 7th October 2026 @ 2pm. This session will provide an overview of the clinical trial process, considerations when participating, and what to expect when engaging in a clinical trial.

Part II then will follow (to be scheduled) providing an overview of the clinical trial landscape in Ireland and features some of the trials currently ongoing and recruiting.

About our Presenters:

Dr Nazia Chaudhuri is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Ulster University School of Medicine and a Respiratory Physician with expertise in Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry. She chairs the NI Respiratory Forum, is Secretary of the Irish Thoracic Society (ITS) and European Respiratory Society (ERS) ILD Societies.

Colin Edwards is the founder of MerlinConsulting and a co-founder of patientMpower, an Irish digital
health company focused on lung and kidney health. Colin retired from patientMpower in 2022 but continues as an advisor and board member. He currently serves on the boards of the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association and Siel Bleu Ireland.
